Coach Michael Etheridge

Head Coach Mike Etheridge joined the Rockdale County High School football staff in May 2008. Coach Etheridge brings with him over 37 years of coaching and teaching experience. He has been Defensive Coordinator, Offensive Coordinator, Line Coach, Linebackers Coach, Special Teams Coordinator, and Assistant Head Coach at many schools in Georgia. RCHS is Coach Etheridge ( Bubba) ‘s third head coaching job. He was also head football coach at Jackson County High School and at Etowah High School.

He graduated from Forrest High School in Jacksonville, Fl and Western Carolina University where he played football and was on the wrestling team. He also attended Gordon Military College where he was the captain of the football team. In June 2003,while coaching at Salem High School, Bubba was named a National Assistant Coach of the Year by the AFLAC Company. He has been twice named by the GACA as Assistant Coach of the Year AA division and twice in the AAAA division.

Coach Etheridge is married to Julianna, who retired from J H House Elementary. They have 3 adult daughters, Jennifer, Rachael and Melissa. Living with them in Conyers is their son Michael (24) at Belhaven College in Jackson, MS, Lauren (21) a student at the University of West Georgia and their granddaughter Taylor ( 14) a student at Edwards Middle School. Coach Etheridge and Mrs. Etheridge also have seven other grandchildren , Grant, Alex, Austin, Zachary, AJ, Hannah, and Willie. Coach Etheridge and Mrs. Etheridge also have three grandpups Chance, Nova, and Pixie.

Coach Etheridge’s goal for each player in their personal life and also on the field is to Get Better Each Day.
